"What Does Community Mean to Me?" – Belonging

From mapping our neighborhoods to creating a collaborative community quilt, campers will think about how their surroundings influence their identity and creativity. We’ll also begin planning a collaborative mural.

Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM – 9:20 AM: Creative Icebreaker: “Draw Your Block!”

  • 9:20 AM – 10:30 AM: Walking Field Activity (or virtual mapping): “My Neighborhood Through an Artist’s Eyes”

  • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Art Project: “Community Quilt”

    • Each camper designs one square that represents their community. Quilted together on a wall.

  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch & Interactive Game: Community Builder Bingo

  • 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Group Mural Sketching – Planning a collaborative piece

  • 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Reflection Journal: “How Do I Make an Impact?”
